Urban Rivals – General Game Overview
Urban Rivals is a free to play 2D browser based trading card game with more than 400 characters to discover, collect and level up by fighting live against players from all over the world!
You’ll get to decide your own fate in Urban Rivals while battling many different opponents. You can choose to have the fight after fight to rise up in the rankings and become the world’s best player. Or why not become a great trader and try to get the complete collection, or even just play for fun with your friends. You’re free to choose your playstyle and see which one fits you the best.
The first thing that we noticed about Urban Rivals was the ‘comic book’ art style. The game uses bright colors and the kind of drawing you see in western super hero cartoons. New players are given 8 random cards which make up a complete deck.
Urban Rivals focuses on short, simple match ups. New players are shown a 3-minute long video that explains the rules and is given the option to read a step-by-step instruction manual in comic book form before they join their first match. At the start of each match, players are randomly assigned 4 cards from their 8 card decks. Each card represents a different ‘character’ that has different stats and properties.
Players take turns being the attacking player, putting forward a card while secretly “boosting” your character’s attack using “Pills” which are your resources that you get 12 off at the start. Each pill you use in increasing an attack will multiply the base number by the amount of Pills you used.
As you win battles, your cards will gain XP and level up in “star” level as well, which unlocks their abilities and increases their stats.
