Fairyland Story is a beautifully presented endless runner. While not exactly spectacular on the technical side of things, the game is absolutely beautiful and engaging when it  comes to visual presentation. Once you see it, you will want to play and once you play it, you will hear it which will make you want to keep playing it.

As for the gameplay side of things, it is pretty simple.

You take control of the girl Dorothy. The Dorothy is called to in her dreams by a fairy who wants her to take up to the skies and follow her throughout the dreamlike world. You control her by tapping on the screen in moving your finger to steer Dorothy around. Of course, there is a catch, a couple of them actually.

First off, if you want to keep flying, you will have to collect stars occasionally. Actually, you’ll have to keep on the stars track pretty much constantly unless you want to fall. Think of it as a video game adaptation of Peter Pan who needs Tinkerbell’s magical pixie dust to keep flying throughout the dreamland.

This is pretty much like that with the exception that there is no final destination and you are pretty much going to fly around for as long as you keep collecting those stars, or bump into something along the way.

And that’s the other major part of the gameplay. Evading obstacles and objects along the way is the most complex part of the game. These obstacles can be placed on pretty much every part of the screen and you will have to quickly and skillfully navigate throughout and in between them to keep flying further while simultaneously making sure that you stay on the star’s trail.

Although this might not sound that complicated to you especially if you’re more experienced gamer, you should know that the draw distance in this game feels a little bit off and you will usually get the feeling that the object right in front of you is actually a bit further away which will probably result in hitting it straight on unintentionally. Furthermore, the controls are a little bit sloppy. Dorothy’s movement can be awkward at times you may even get the feeling of the existing latency.
